The Passion for Sports is Stronger When Shared.

Whether it’s playing side by side or supporting each other off the field, when you share your love of sports with someone else, it brings you closer together.

For five children in Uganda, Elaine (Age 6), Haba (Age 3), Jenique (Age 2) and Jessen (Age 12), Jeyson (Age 12), this sharing came in the form of a kit from two young athletes in Luxembourg.

These children are so young, and this gesture was a friendly reminder: “Someone out there believes in me.

Fatah Boudjelida and Sabrina Hajek are raising their children, Jayden (10) and Shaey (7), to understand that kindness in sports is just as important as winning.

With the encouragement of their parents, the two siblings shared their own sports kits so that other children could feel the same excitement they feel when pulling on their gear before a game. It was a simple decision for them, but one filled with generosity.

Through Sembeza Africa, this kit travelled to Uganda, to the children of two mothers, Prossy Nanyonga and Jennifer Nakitto — one of whom is raising not only her own children, but also the children of her late brother Jimmy.

Prossy shared:

“As a single mother, it has been so difficult to raise the children. School fees, accommodation, even hospital care — everything was a struggle. But God helped us. I have four children, and at least two are interested in sports. I know everyone can use their talent to go further in life. I thank the children and parents in Luxembourg for donating this kit. May God bless you abundantly.”

When asked what it felt like to see her children receive their kits, Jennifer shared:

“I was impressed and I was happy. I was glad that we got to come to Ubuntu. I was glad because I saw that there’s someone out there who wants to add something to our kids. Someone out there who wants to give a hand and be part of our family. Thank you so much for the kits.”

Life hasn’t been easy, but these women show incredible strength every day — making sure the children are safe, loved, and encouraged to chase their talents.

These children live thousands of kilometres apart, and yet, through sport, they’re connected. And this connection is something that Sembeza Africa is truly honoured to be part of.

We are grateful to Jayden and Shaey, and to their parents Fatah and Sabrina, for showing this kindness.

To Prossy and Jennifer, for their strength, courage and love.

And to Elaine, Haba, Jenique, and Jessen — your smiles remind us why we do this.
