Bringing Sports, Conservation, and Traditional Games to Life in Uganda
Welcome to TheBestBareFootLeague in the World (TBBFL), an ambitious sports development program dedicated to empowering youth through sports, conservation, health education, and tourism.
Overview of the Launch
The five-day field launch took place from April 4th to April 8th, 2023, across multiple regions in Uganda, successfully engaging over 1,000 participants. This event was aimed at promoting sports development, equipping local coaches and teachers, and integrating traditional African games into the community.

Launch Activities
The event featured a variety of engaging and educational activities, including:

Training Sessions and Coaching Clinics: Led by experienced coaches from Rhino Athletics Club Uganda and international professionals like Wayne Thompson, Saidi Atibu, and Andrew Byekwaso.

Equipment Distribution: Each space received sports gear like footballs, netballs, rugby balls, training bibs, cones, jerseys, and football boots.

Workshops and Traditional Games: Focused on soccer, netball, rugby, and traditional African games like Omweso and Okwepena.

Small-Sided Games: These games allowed participants to practice new skills and demonstrate sportsmanship.
Key Outcomes

1,000+ Youth Engaged: Participants from seven sports organizations gained new skills and enjoyed access to quality sports equipment.

Community Impact: The event fostered excitement and gratitude among local coaches, teachers, and young athletes.

Conservation and Health Education: Themes of conservation and health education were seamlessly integrated into sports activities.

Reviving Traditional Sports: Traditional African games were highlighted, preserving cultural heritage while promoting physical activity.
Conclusion
The field launch of TheBestBareFootLeague in Uganda was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of sports to inspire, educate, and unite communities. We aim to build a holistic and impactful sports culture in Uganda by combining sports development with conservation and traditional games.
